  5. EPC Pascal-E is a substantially extended implementation of ISO standard Pascal.
  6. It was the first 88Open BCS/OCS-validated Pascal compiler which includes: a
  7. high-speed, high quality compiler; run-time support libraries; automatic make;
  8. post-failure diagnostic facilities; and full documentation. EPC Pascal-E
  9. provides fast compilation coupled with reliable code generation. It generates
  10. standard object files and follows the calling conventions for the UNIX
  11. operating system, enabling the use of standard utility libraries and mixed
  12. language programming. Switches are available to control the language dialect,
  13. the degree of run-time checking and detail of diagnostic information. Checks
  14. can be made for uninitialised variable use and sub-range violations. EPC
  15. Pascal-E represents a commercially viable language designed to support medium-
  16. to large-scale software development. It provides the richest dialect of Pascal
  17. available today on any UNIX system.
